for that price, I would buy a S63 or a 2010+ S550 which is the facelifted model of the W221(granted it might have slightly higher mileage). With the W222 new body model release right around the corner, I just would not feel comfortable shedding ~$60k on a W221 model.

Thats my 2cents...

Thank you for your reply just1time I understand what your saying fully but does the AMG sport package justify the hike in that price? The car is also CPO.

Someone correct me if am wrong but I believe the AMG sport package has no enhancement to the engine. Its just the aggressive exterior bodykit that makes it differ from the regular S550. I don't think it is the reason the car is highly priced. They are probably hiking it up cause of the low mileage and whatnot.

I wouldn't pay 60k for a 2009 S550...not worth it at all. In a few months, it will be worth probably $35k given the upcoming new model. $35k is what I would spend on a W221 as of now. $45 for a S63. But thats just me.

$35k for a 2009 with 25k and CPO? On what planet? Not even a year from now are you going to find a 2009 with 25k and CPO for $35k from a dealer. $45k for an S63? Maybe if it has around 100k, no warranty and in questionable condition. I agree that $60k for the 2009 is way too much, but let's be realistic with these prices.

OP, the AMG sport package does command a premium as well as the low miles. You didn't mention the color but if it's white or silver with the panoramic roof (which are hard to find) that may explain the high price. I would pay no more than $55k out the door max for the car you mentioned. You should be able to get a 2010 with similar mileage for the price you mentioned.

thank you guys for all your feedback I will talk to the dealer

just to tighten things up a bit the mileage is at exactly 17k, it is white with the amg sport package, no panoramic roof, it has the spoiler, and is CPO.

They seem to be flexible on the price but I am going to really push for 55k no more than 56 out the door. You guys have been helpful and increased my knowledge on these cars greatly any other tips would be appreciated.

thanks alot i will let you know how it goes

I wouldn't do more than $55k max and that includes taxes and tags. For just a little more you could probably find a similar 2010, which will look newer and hold it's value better, especially with the new redesigned model around the corner.

My 08 s550 4 matic it's about hitting 100k mark. It's still going strong.
My wife suggested me into 2010+ due to facelift + led headlamp etc...
I've gone to Highline Sales through an auction ( buying direct from MB) in Framingham/Boston Massachusetts for weeks now. With my knowledge, 2009's with low mileage, lease returned, under warranty etc... are running from $38k to $46k based on options and mileage.
I've seen mileage as low as 9k to 50k+. If you're willing to wait until May 2013, there will be over a million MB cars are available to the market ( market flood) same with Toyota.
Your offer/dealer listing is about $10k over the actual market value. Fair price for this 2009 of yours is $50k max in my option sir.
Side notes, my wife bought an 07, one owner, private sale, white 4matic with P2 package, 22152 miles ( yes 22152 miles) from a retired doctor for $33k cash deal. It's a mint vehicle with back seats never sat on, true story. Please spend money wisely unless its not an issue for you. Take care Ned

@volml55amg I really appreciate your knowledge....why in may 13' will there be a market flood? I don't quite understand that and these are all auction prices you are talking about right?

I will try to get as close to 55k out the door as possible looking at how MB is pricing all of the 2009+ s550 in my area they all are priced very similarly and I feel like I am going to be bounced around on this forever.

thanks for your help

According to Inside information from reliable sources, MB + Toyota have the most lease returned vehicles compared to other manufactures. MB will have about a million vehicles available for dealers to buy in a few months. The residual value/pricing will be rock bottom.
Yes sir, the prices I've mentioned above was the actual weekly sales report through ADESA.com.
I'd look for s63 or s65 with $50K plus. Good day... Ned

Sorry, but this "inside information" is absolutely ridiculous. This myth is along the same lines as previous generation cars suddenly dropping "50%" of their value once the new models come out. Cars depreciate due to age, mileage, and condition and not anything else. People who are in the market for a used car would not be able to afford a W222 for years to come, so there will be no give away W221s any time soon.

i said 35k is what i would pay for a W221.I didn't specifically say an 09 model. I am indifferent about the years
