Help with a few issues and part identification

Hi all,

I have a 2008 S550 which I purchased a few months ago. Recently, I've encountered some issues and hope you all can help:

1. See pics I've attached. I found this little part laying around on the floor of the front passenger seat. I have no idea what it is or where it came from.

2. Every now and then, when I start up the car, the air conditioning spits out hot air (as if the heater is on) for a few seconds, then turns cold. It's not like the hot air you feel when you leave the car outdoors under the sun. It's the actual heater. It only lasts like 15-20 seconds, but I want to make sure it's not some issue indicating something worse will happen as we get more into summer.

3. My electronic trunk closer has stopped working. When I pop open the trunk from inside the car, using my key fob or the trunk latch, it opens only about an inch. I have to manually open it and close it. The buttons do not light up any more.

Any help on the issues above would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

dont know what the pic is, but try accessing you trunk settings using the mb interface. i believe there is an option in there as to how far the trunk opens/ and to disable the trunk closing feature. i switched mine from fully opening to partial. hope this helps.

oh and as for the pics. i believe those are the fans for beneath the seats. used for the cool air seat option.

Where is this "mb interface" located?

Best bet at this point is to have someone pull fault codes with MB DAS/XENTRY so you know exactly what is going across all systems rather than guess at repairs.
