Front right higher after replacing airmatic strut

Hi,

Just changed the front right airmatic strut after a leakage on the S350L/221. The side is now higher by one inch or less, and there is a steering drag to the left (lower) side while driving and am concerned that it could do damage besides tyre related wear; if the steering is left lose the car pulls to the left ( lower ) side.. .

Questions
1. does the strut need a run in time to fix itself - anyone know?
2. Is there something wrong in the installation itself perhaps or a way to adjust heights ?
3. What if any other problem / solution could you think off ?

Thanks folks ! Appreciate any advice.

If you have many miles on the vehicle, the shocks should be cahnged in pairs. It may be adjustable through programming too. What does your dealer/mechanic say?

oh man....
The mechanic that changed that strut should have used Star DAS to reprogram height levels.
I would take it back to him to do it over, the right way..!

And if he doesn't have Star DAS, do not let him touch your car. Go to someone that does.

Thanks - actually I have just around 23000 miles - it was a case of going over a serious obstacle. The official merc dealers even did not suggest changing in pairs. Ofcourse the strut is expensive, so even less of a reason to. The garage that did the work went out and did something on the scanner. I will ask up on this adjustment through programming - presently don't have a clue. I will update when done. Many thanks for the note.

Thanks ! I will find out as I said in response to another post on what system exactly was used by the garage that did the work to scan etc. thanks for the lead.
