Air conditioning issue 2007 S550

Hi all,

it was a very warm day last week and my car had been sitting in the sun so when I got inside i turned the a/c on right away to LO and fan speed 5. I felt nothing but warm air blowing. The next morning I turned the car on let the ideal reach 750 rpm then turned on the a/c to setting LO and speed 1. I felt a little cold air come through the vents but not at all how it normally worked. I checked the under the hood and saw the pipe coming from the compressor had condensation on it but not much.

It seems as tho I get some cold air at fan setting 1/2 with temp set to LO but no cold air when I blast the a/c to 4,5,6, etc.

I can turn the "a/c" off and on from the command button on the screen so I believe there is at least some refridgerant. Any ideas what this can be?

I had some issues with my 2008 S550's Computer requiring an update at the dealer. AC was one of the issues as was malfunctioning seats, jittery display menus on the entertainment screen, and a few other annoying items. A software update fixed the problem at no cost, dealer did it free.

Might not have anything to do with you but worth checking.

I am have same issue

When my air blows cold - its ice cold - but then all of a sudden warm

Sometimes happens after driving a distance and sometimes on startup

Any ideas out there - I live in Florida and have a total melt down when air is not working

Might be low on refrigerant caused by a slow leak. If this is the case, have some added and see how long it lasts.

I had a software update cost me $200.00 which I hoped would help me with a surge forward at low speed when coming to a stop

Didn't help

Any ideas out there on the air - not refrigerant - I have a new condenser and evaporator

freezing cold when it works but when it doesn't just warm air

Any fault codes stored i.e.: in car temperature sensor b10/4; side & footwell sensors b10/31,32 ,35,36; and/or b32/2 sun sensor.

Konigstiger,
Do you really have an Pinto? Is that one of the years that if you got hit in the rear the gas tank blew up?? My friend had one, back when we were in high school, and we always argued about which car we would take when going out. I always wanted to take my Chevy Vega so as to not blow up that night. Not much of a choice on rides to take chasing Chicks : (

How did you know you required a software update? I wouldn't mind doing that in general and maybe hope it would help certain passenger side seat positions that don't work. Did they diagnose that as the problem or did you get a software update for another reason? My car ('08) has never gotten an update to my knowledge and I figure it might be a good idea..though they will probably charge me an arm and a leg because I didn't my the car from them and have no work done there...
