S320L Cdi (2008)
Hi All,
I have just purchased an S320L cdi (2008) and I had some questions about the vehicle.
I have called the dealer and they have confirmed I have an NTG3 comand unit.
I have 2 screens at the back. They seem to show digital channels however the reception is extremely bad. The channel does not seem to hold reception for more than 2-3 seconds!
1) Is this normal?
2) The datacard I received for my vehicle says I have a 'digital to analog tv tuner'. Mercedes could not confirm what this was and could not specify if I have digital or analog. Can anyone shed some light?
3) What Ipod playing options do i have? I would like to use the existing clickwheel to control the songs.
Thanks In advance for your help.

TV tuners on a W221 have always been DVB-T capable (supporting both digital and analog TV channels). Perhaps your TV signal is poor, a lot of multipath or a bad antenna (amplifier) at the car.
You can add the "old style" iPod interface but you would loose the 3.5 mm AUX plug. Why not use the PCMCIA interface and a memory card or MP3 files on a DVD instead.

As far as the iPod goes - I just plug mine into the jack in the glove box and I can then use the steering wheel to control it and see my selections in the middle of the speedometer,

Also, with the PCMCIA option, can i just use a 16GB SD card and control the music via the clickwheel?
Also, will I be able to view the song names etc on the command and driver screen?
Is it folder based structure?
Many Thanks

xrayaz must have the iPod interface. You cannot control the iPod if it is connected to the 3.5 mm AUX socket (I assume you have a 3.5 mm AUX socket for audio and an RCA for video, if it is 3 RCA connectors, still the same).
A 16 GB SD HC card would work as long a the PCMCIA adapter is HC capable (there are many models that only support basic SD cards). You can select music on the memory card via the COMAND interface (consult your car manual for details).
