Key pad- installed in Piano Black with Black Ash interior
I just installed my key pad from DCTMS. My interior is Black Ash (currently not in stock) so I went with the piano black. I was very pleased with the color contrast. It's really hard to tell the color difference, since they blend so well. I would highly recommend this accessory, the fit and quality is great!

Just want to confirm how to remove the keypad - I'm paranoid about damaging anything!
On page one it says:
Open center storage compartment, remove keypad by inserting a small screwdriver at hole in front housing.
I notice a small hole in the rear of the housing that holds the keypad (rear being same as car's rear) - is this the hole to insert the screwdriver? I don't quite understand the reference to the center storage compartment.....

Access hole to remove keypad seen during repair instruction together with reassembly at end should cover it:

Yeah, I found that video earlier. Unfortunately, he doesn't show when he removes the keypad.
I just had a go at it now in the garage, by poking a small screwdriver in the hole and managed to get the keypad to lift less than 1mm, but was too scared to apply any greater force to the screwdriver lest I snap something! I didn't manage to get it to pop out... :\

Man, this is a mystery to me. I've tried several ways of poking things into the hole to remove this keypad, all to no avail. It simply will not pop out.
Like I say, I'm afraid to apply too much force for fear of breaking something, but I'd say I'm applying more than I'm comfortable with and it still won't come out. Am I missing something?

I just changed mine yesterday and saw your post so figured I'd help. I went to Mercedes yesterday and a tech came out and showed me how to get to it and release it.
First thing is that video in the link is total crap.
You do not remove the plastic keypad from the top prying something in there. You actually release it from the bottom where you cannot damage the keypad cover at all.
When you are sitting in the driver's seat looking down at the keypad cover/console with the little door closed. Take a small flashlight and look at the back underneath of it (might have to put your head sideways down right next to the arm console) but down underneath on the back bottom of the plastic keypad holder/cup.
You will see a little hole with a button recessed back under there.
Once you see that, open the little console cover door and put a piece of a thin t-shirt or paper towel on the leather part of the armrest that is about half an inch away from the back of the keypad console/cup (to protect the leather).
I then took a really thin shaft screwdriver but about 4 inches long though (too short and it won't reach far enough to push the button).
Push that button in from behind and underneath the console holder while slightly pulling up on the plastic keypad cover with your fingers right where the little cover (door hinge) is. The tech told me not to use any type of tool on the plastic keyboard itself or it will bend and/or crack it. Just pry with some pressure by pulling up from the hinge area with your fingers.
As I pushed on that button from underneath with the screw driver, I could see the keypad plastic piece begin to lift slightly and then just pulled up on it (again not with a tool but my fingers) and it popped right out. Once it's off you can see how it was designed to take in and out.
Hope this helps!!

Oh sorry about that did not know you made the video. Video is fine for what it shows repair of the case, but as far as how to actually remove the little plastic keypad part it did not help me which is why I ask the Mercedes tech.

I've just had another go.... very frustrated right now.... how many ways can a person stick a small screwdriver in a hole and nothing happens? I can get it to lift about 1mm, but that's it, nothing else budges. Just about ready to return the part I bought for a refund.....

Thanks for your help Konig. Without holding it in my hands, it's still hard to see what the precise mechanism is. It looks to be a plastic tab that bends and releases a catch. I guess I just need to find the sweet spot with pushing a shank in there.....

Max...Also dont forget to put a wash cloth down to protect your leather from the screwdriver. Here is another pic to show the tab you are trying to push in.

2007 S65 Keypad Cover
Trying to find a factory OEM (not stick on) Burlwood Keypad cover for a 2007 S65. It seems there are several slight color variations depending on what model. Can someone please confirm the part number for the S65?
Thank you
Thank you

Will appreciate if you can answer few questions.
I have bought the same cover as yours from ecklersmbzparts today I asked this store questions but they did not know. So following your experience I bought anyway. I will get it in a week. I have few questions:
1. Does this come as a wood grain cover or a full keypad assembly case?
2. If it's only the cover how do you remove the original and replace? do you remove the keypad assembly to remove the cover?
3. Is this made of grain wood?
4. Does the wood grain color match with the rest of OEM wood grain color?
Let me know. Thanks.
