S550 Transmission Service***
I have a 4:30 appointment today and would like some advice.
Car is a 2009 S550, purchased around June/July 2009 and only has 31,500 miles on it. It will have around 38-39,000 miles on it by this time next year.
The car is due for service "B". I see that a transmission service is due for 4 years or 40,000 miles. The car being not close at all to 40k miles, is it necessary to do a transmission service or can I get away with doing it next year?
The price for service B with the transmission I was quoted around $1,200 or without around $350.
Thank you for your opinion

yes, always have the fluid changed on these cars...it is important for the function of the trans...but, the transmission service for my 2007 has only cost ~$370....had it done twice....

May I ask if the trans. service was done by an MB dealer? If so, where? I got snapped pretty hard for mine at an authorized MB dlr. locally. Indi said he could not do it, as some special tool was need to inject the fluid. Thanks.

I'm reaching 32k now.... I've checked with local MB dealer. It was quoted $550. Oil change + filter are extra as usual service around $120.00.
My Indy is able to do this for $100 less.
Happy new year
