I have client with an infinate cash flow that wants to do this too on his S600 he also wants OEM dvd screens in the back. I don't really even want to get involved in trying to get this retrofit working, but if someone else has info on it I would appreciate it as well. The problem with non-us parts is that they get blocked from ordering in the US :\

Some of the parts shown here:

Retrofitting these should not be that bad unlike for the W220 that needs a different fuel tank with a hole for the ski bag.

Through loading feature does not exist for any market, the room behind the rear seat is filled up anyway. The ski bag is just a small opening at the centre armrest area.

a3po911, MBenzNL travels the globe retrofitting Mercedes benz with OEM parts. He comes to the US and mainly CA many times per year "cause in his words us CA residents are never happy with our cars". He performs work for many Mercedes Benz Dealerships, that their own techs are in-capable of doing..
He installed the OEM S63-AMG Steering wheel in my car earlier this year when he was in CA. There was an article written up on him in one of the car magazines someone linked the article perhaps on the E-Class board.
MBenzNL is also the only person outside of the factory to have access to the special software that allows you to version code the car. So even if you can't wait til he is next in the US, you can start with him and he will get you the parts at a fraction of what the dealerships charges.
He is also the first person to tell you if the re-trofit is even possible, and as you can see on his web site he has done some amazing retrofits.

He is probably the first person knowing if something can be done but by no means is he the only person outside of the factory to have access to the special software that allows one to version code the car, not even if you mean expert III or developer mode Star. But he probably knows best how to use it.
But the topic was about the rear refrigerator, no need for Star there.

I'd be very interested if you get the rear phone handset. Always wondered about that.

I've installed the rear handset myself. It only needs a simple wiring harness that connects to the antenna booster wiring (for power, ground and a control signal indicating when the system is active).
I did not buy the specific panels, fixed the cradle to the existing drawer.

I have a BT adapter at the front (I'm using a European BT SAP adapter that comes with a privacy handset). The rear handset works over BT but it connects to the Comand. The rear handset must get the phonebook too from Comand because it can be used without the front BT adapter (with a fixed phone cradle). One can read and compose SMS messages too but the features otherwise are pretty limited.

Yes, the 2009 implementation is quite different. But wouldn't the 2009 also support privacy calls with a BT headset? The handset is like a BT headset although it does support the phone book too, even messaging. But so does the 2009 386 cradle setup, is it called comfort telephony. Perhaps I should try the handset at our W204 where the setup is pretty much like on the 221 face lift.
