Hi All,

New member and first time MB owner here.

On 12/30 I purchased a 2010 S550 w/ 33k on it. CPO but did not purchase an extension at all so I have 2 years on the warranty. Back bumper scuffs, back passenger door ding and each wheel with a significant scrape on it. VIN: WDDNG7BB5AA323705

I paid $52,780.11 with my 2 first payments covered by MB ($1,580 total) and financed at 0.74% through MB Finance. It was not my intention to purchase this vehicle arriving there but after some talking to the sales staff and leaving and them calling me back I settled somewhere I was comfortable with.

It's a beautiful car - sticker was $113k new with the upgrades.

I bought my 2007 S550 4Matic with 50K miles just a week ago for $32,900 I guess its all different and it all depends on the market area as well.

The car I bought sold at auction for $29000 6 days before I got it. They replaced the brakes, and who knows what else they did.

I think I got a fair deal, could have done maybe a little bit better.

Congrats! I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure the base CPO warranty is for 12 months or 100k mikes, which ever comes first. Adding one more year was around $2500, or two more (3 total) was $4495. My 2010 is my third S Class (Oh yeah, I'm afraid once you've owned an S Class, you won't be able to own or drive anything else) and CPO is the way to go. I recommend buying as much coverage as MB is willing to sell, though. They're great cars but man can they bite you hard at the garage. I've never lost money on CPO cost vs actual repairs. I did make the mistake of keeping an S500 after the warranty expired once and two months later paid $6.000 for a tranny.

 

I just purchased a 2010 diamond white 4matic sport. The car was completely loaded with pano roof, distronic etc. This is actually the second 2010 S I have owned as my first one was sent down to Fla to be enjoyed by my parents. I bought this car with 75k miles and a Penske 3 year warranty. I bought the additional tire/wheel package due to the potholes in the NY area. I have spent thousands over the years on rims and tires. The car was shipped to me from Ohio this past week. Purchase price including warranty and tire/wheel package came to just over 41k. I bought the car for 38k, warranty for 2k and the wheel tire for an additional 1k. Prior to purchasing this car, I drove a 2011 e350 4matic sport with pano roof, nice car, drove well but like someone mentioned above, once you drive an S class, nothing ever quite measures up. Will post pics as soon as I get my car washed. Big storm heading this way!

 

I love that combo...the pearl with the blacked out roof. My favorite (especially with an AMG Plus 1 appearance package.) I really wanted one but got tired of shopping and bought another black one instead. Yawn. Read that wheel/tire contract carefully. I had one from a 3rd party vendor sold by Mercedes (Maybe "First Choice"?). I badly curbed and bent an AMG rear on the S500 ($1100 new) and made a claim. Per the contract, they'll only replace a damaged rim if the tire will no longer seal on it. If it's holding air, no coverage. Yours may be different. If it's not what you expected though, you usually can cancel for a full refund within the first couple months.

 

I think the wheel/tire pkg was a good product but I will definitely look into it. I told myself no mods on this car other then tinting the windows, however I already find myself looking at roof spoilers on ebay. Any suggestions as I generally stick to OEM products or top quality after market. My car came with the upgraded 20" AMG wheels which I loved and didnt have on my other 2010 s class sport. Post pics of your beast! Would love to see

 

She's not a beast yet I'm afraid. It has the 19" wheel package. But sitting in my garage is a perfect set of staggered 20" take offs from an S63. Once I can rationalize pulling off a perfectly good set of 19" Michelins and buying a new set of 20" tires for purely aesthetic reasons I'll bite the bullet and mount them up. Then it'll be picture time!

They had an offer that ends Jan 2 for $2,400 back for financing (Mercedes pays first two payments). So you could take that offer, then pay the whole loan off, and it's $2,400 back in your pocket.

 

With that rate you got I wouldn't be in a hurry to pay it off so quickly. Great rate, great car

Thanks buddy! I love black myself but the scratches make me crazy. My wife has a black GL450 (great SUV btw). Its a beast and looks amazing when clean, however, I see every scratch! Appreciate the support with the white. I contemplated having the stock wheels powder coated in a satin black and or gun metal grey. I want to do some light exterior mods and perhaps add the wooden clamshell on the interior for the phone buttons. Thoughts?

 

I just got that phone clamshell in the mail from Eckerds yesterday. Looks great and feels nice under hand. It has double sided tape strips inside and just snaps right over the existing leather cover. Looks factory, good match.

If at any point you decide you can't live the white I'll swap ya.

 

In pictures of the stock interior, I really thought that wood cover was needed, but after I picked up the car, I will say the stock piece feels great on your hand. I didn't know it was leather, and it's super soft. I'm torn about the wood cover now...

I just picked up my Black one last week, for now it will always be dirty because of the awesome weather out here now.

Ill try to keep it as clean as possible, the CL sits in the garage all week on the season and every single day in the winter. I hate black myself super hard to keep clean but looks so good when it is.
I would go with the white if I had to do it over again.

You didn't leave much room for your helicopter.

Not sure about the IPhone workaround, but to make your pics full size, upload them as normal. Then right click on the thumbnail and select "copy image location". Then click the Image icon (7th from left) and paste the image location address into the box. (Delete the existing "HTTP" before pasting.)

as others have noted you have one year of warranty left. If I were you I would purchase an extension of the cpo while u have the chance to get an additional percent off of the cost, I believe you have 15 days to do this.
