New member - 2011 S550 Mauritius Blue
Hello,
I picked up a 2011 S550 in Mauritius Blue. I've considered the S class for a long time but I just didn't care of the silver/black that most of these come in. The white is nice, but I already have an M3 so I didn't want another white car. When I saw the Mauritius Blue s550, and I jumped on it right away. The car comes with many options, including the Bang & Olufsen system. I've been driving BMW's for the past 7 years (330, m3, 540, m5) and while the s550 doesn't offer the driving experience of any of those, it's much more luxurious and doesn't beg to be floored every time I drive it. I'll post some more photos when the weather gets better. I'm still amazed by this color and I get constant questions from strangers whether I repainted my car to this color.
I look forward to posting on this forum, but it seems like it's not as active as some of the others, unfortunately.

Welcome aboard, many of us have experienced bmw's on this site and give it some time you will appreciate the ride quality and handling of the sclass. Does feel a bit different at first but it can be a very aggressive vehicle as well with luxury appeal. Nice color, definitely an attention grabber but you might wanna look into upgrading the wheels.

Wow. I didn't realize that color existed. Really nice! I love the look and performance of BMWs and every time I'm in the market I take one out, but in the end I always just buy another S Class. That color is very BMW-ish, BTW.

Welcome aboard, many of us have experienced bmw's on this site and give it some time you will appreciate the ride quality and handling of the sclass. Thanks! I'll post some actual shots from on the road, but here are a few more from the dealer I purchased it from.
Mike5215 - the color does remind me of avus blue. I've always liked these colors - I had a 330ci in topaz blue and a mystic blue m3 a few years ago. The topaz blue was probably my second favorite after this one.

Do these chrome rims have any resale value or should I just save them for winter tires? I think they look a little tacky these days and will look for something else in the spring.

Nice interior, the wheels must have been custom chromed at some point. I would sell them if youre not interested in them and pick up the 19inch 3 spoke or 20inch sport +1 wheels

I'll sell ya a nice set of non chromed take-offs in the same style with a three month old (3K miles) set of Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

Yeah. I had three left in the garage and I wanted to see how they looked on the S550. Pick them up on eBay...pretty inexpensive. All MB's take the same center cap so anything you find will fit.
