Storage bins under front seats missing for 2010-2013 S?

The storage assembly includes the the plastic storage/cover, and the metal framework to which it mounts. The pocket framework has attachment points that connect to the seat frame. The assembly comes as a singular unit.

Ok, so it's possible that you may not need the metal framework? Did you just order it all to be safe in case you do need it? It boggles my mind that they will change the actual metal frame for such a simple change.

Well, I decided to waste my money. I bought a pair of the storage and framework from a 2007. I EPC'd the part numbers between an 07 and 13, and those are the only differences. I am optimistic that they will fit. If I can keep a bottle of water (or Glock :-p) in it, I'll be happy.
How much money are you throwing away on these? I have a feeling that you are going to be disappointed when you see what you are getting.

As far as I can tell, 10-13 only has the plastic cover with no pocket framework behind it. But because I didn't look carefully, I could be wrong. I'll know next week....

Here is why: On long drives, I sometimes like to rest my left foot/leg by tucking it against (sort of under) the seat. The S-Class does not allow me to do that because of the protruding plastic. When I first got the car, I told my GF that it would seem like there should be a storage compartment underneath. After a few minutes, I realized that it is just a cover. I always thought that if they are going to have a piece of plastic in the way of my foot, the least they can do is turn it into storage. Since I have to put up with the design, I figure I might as well get something out of it.

The doors are there, but the compartments are not on mine. The space beneath the seats is crammed with harnesses for the seat. Not much stowage space. The doors can be opened as I opened mine with a hooked wire.

The retrofit is done and I love it! The pockets are larger than I thought and they will be great as a trash bin or additional storage. Again, there is a hidden cover that keeps things from falling out while the pocket is stowed. I am very happy with this mod. Two bolts on each side. Easy job.

The plastic panel on top covers the content in the pocket when closed. The framework and pocket is a single assembly. The pocket is not designed to be separated from the framework.

I put my key in for size reference. It is larger than I thought. A water bottle will fit, but I think I'll use one for trash and the other for ammo ;-)

Ok, very cool. So everything you bought was needed with nothing left over? Total cost was?
And how long for install?

Nothing leftover. The frame and pocket is a single assy.
Recommended eBay search: "W221 seat (pocket, storage)"
Do not buy the pocket only. There is currently an auctions with pockets only. If you look closely, they have broken tabs. Plus, you need the frame assy.

Great job and pics, now I am looking again LOL! I found this one on ebay. I have the special color issue, but I have an extra set of my cover/doors, so I cold experiment on how to switch out the original doors for my cover/door - it will be tough to open though
But at least the cover color will be right.

Have a look at these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DAP-W221-MERCEDES-2010-2013-S-CLASS-FRONT-RIGHT-PASS-SEAT-POCKET-STORAGE-5-/111499671427?hash=item19f5e5f783&vxp=mtr

Note the hinge area--where the holes are larger than the cover-only. The pocket and framwork is a single assemply--the hinge is fixed and the pocket does not detach from from the framework. The above listed should never be purchased--they also have broken tabs.
Here are a few others:

Just ordered these and am doing this easy mod soon. Why Mercedes removed these for 2010+ s class makes no sense. Just to save money for a cool feature.

Check ebay, seems to be had around $50 each used if you can find them.
