I am willing to pay that much, if in good shape, but I have not seen any.
I am so reluctant to buy any "fakes". Would love to hear other people's opinion on this. I am driving a 100k machine, so to me it makes no sense to cheap out on wheels/tires. Am I being stupid??

Well, I would say the latter would be if you paid $5k for them
Be patient as they pop up quite often. Remember, those wheels have been around since 2007. Also, how about the stock S63 wheels from newer years?

Beware of purchasing wheels on ebay, many are listed as new but are actually reconditioned. You do not want any reconditioned wheels. Your best bet is finding either a good used set or lucking up and finding some takeoffs that someone is selling from off of their newly purchased vehicle. Last option is dealer but ofcourse that's expensive. Also I wouldn't do any replicas for Benz wheels.
Those s63 wheels are sweet but they only come in staggered set up.

They do come in staggered but not non-staggered.
I personally don't like aftermarket wheels with large lips anymore whether 2 or 3 piece they are a pain for repairs. They look great tho. I'm a big fan of concave style wheels.

Dude I dunno I bought the s63/s65 wheels on ebay 1 at a time until I made complete set and I live in New York pot hole city and they are greatttttt no issues yet, I had those replicas before and problem after problems with potholes,
Oem forged wheels is the way to go, now if you live out west or down south basically your good with just about any rim..and if you don't want staggered just but 4 fronts 8.5 and your good...
