Feedback needed: cheap led headlight conversion?
Hey guys...
As you may know i am looking to do a led headlight conversion and like some of you i am trying to do it on a budget so i am always scoping out for a good deal that does not break the bank.
With that said let me start by saying that i have no affiliation with this seller. I was scoping the net looking for facelift mirrors from a china seller on alibaba.com and he has them at a great deal. I also asked him if he does facelift led headlights and he does.
For a price of $2235 he can send me:
Two led headlights with modules sourced from Germany
special plug and play adapter
no sams requires
no resistors
He claimed plug and play..nothing else needed.
Here is his facebook page below..anybody know of this and is there finally a cheaper solution out there?
If someone can validate my findings let me know..thanks!

I think the main concern is whether this headlamp are fully waterproof and will it crack over time.
I've had some experience with 3rd party headlamps before and its a hit/miss when it involves the high intensity of heat from HID-Bixenon headlamp. This goes without saying that the headlamps are purchased from a reputable 3rd party corporation focusing on this line of products.
Say it works just fine, can he assure you that the headlamps wont crack over time? Or is there a high chance of water entering the headlamp (due to poor craftmanship). Sure you could detach the cover itself and glue it back to reassure yourself but you cant prevent cracks.
I've purchased taiwan-made plug and play rearlamps recently and they cost me around $350 dollars. Worth every single penny. I am abit skeptical about 3rd party headlamps solely for the reason highlighted above. Just afraid the quality of the headlamp cover itself is not up to par with Taiwan/OEM products.

However, the price itself is not far off from purchasing a brand new OEM headlamp.
In all honesty, the cheapest way to get it is from Taiwan.
I have been quoted on the price before, lots of mods to be done, and comes at a hefty price too.
Prolly about RM10k-13k. So thats about 4k USD (rounded off). Oh, and you gotta get an expert to set it up for you, so fees included would start $100 up?
I do not have the direct contact of the supplier if you are interested at this stage of reading this.
I will try to source it and get back to you.

That's a great question. I'll tell you this, once you see the cornering lights in action (when you turn the wheels left or right) you won't be able to live without them. Very cool. And the auto Highbeam assist, which was added for 2010, that's even cooler.

I contacted one of these sellers only to find out their lights don't support ILS or night vision. Might be the same vendor, might not.
I'm not too keen on putting big-*** ballast resistors under the bonnet.
Not very elegant, and certainly potential for burn/melt issues.
I just received an SDconnect system from China, playing with it to see if I can maybe do the re-coding for facelight lights.
I'm having some issues with the system, some due to newbie, some due to Chinese QC, or lack thereof.

I am looking to do this as well.
I am in the So Cal area, where are you?
I already did the taillights and license plate lights for the rear, but haven't pulled the trigger on the front, or the body kits yet.
I contacted Sonic, and they said they are no longer doing the headlights. They said they might start again this year, kind of strange.
