2006, S350 Steering wheel adjustment problem

Hello,

I have a weird problem where the electrical steering wheel adjustment doesn't go up or down. It still goes in and out, but not up or down. I can hear the relay clicking in the column, but no action.

Weird is that, it just stopped working without any action.

So my question is, that if it would be the fuse, would the relay still click?
Just in case: Where is/are the related fuse(s) located?
Are the up/down and in/out motors separately or is there one motor?

I sadly don't have the car with me at this moment, otherwise I would disconnect the battery for a moment. But I will get it back in few days, and I want to be ready to fix it

Hope someone can but some light into this,

Thanks in advance,

Kalle

a 2006 s350 is a w220 in the united states. You may have better luck in the w220 forum

OP doesn't say, but.. if that's a pic of his car, its Euro and the W221 was a MY 06 in Europe.

A pretty MY 2006 W221 you have (with all the facelift stuff).

The steering wheel adjustments certainly work from two different motors (up/down & in/out). Used to be a typical issue on W211 but I have not heard of many W221s with this issue.

With Estonian (EU) licence plates it should be obvious.

Thanks for all the posts. Its EU car, EST plates indeed. A company car to be exact, so I got punch of them.

Horrible car to DIY, but sometimes I can do magic and spend less money on service, which usually here is minimal of 500 EUR. There is never a problem under that price.

So tomorrow I will start debugging it. I hope someone can provide more info.

I got from another source, the location of relays and that there are two separate motors.
