2010 S550
My 2 cents.. Why does a 17 yr old need a 2010 s550 or a cl500? I never understood why parents spoil their kids and then wonder why the kids never appreciate anything. Those cars are to much for a kid just getting his license. The insurance is gonna be ridiculously high and you said it yaself he has no respect for you now as it is throwing parties when your not home etc... I think your out of your mind buying a car like this for his first car. But what do I know?

A new c class or CLA. Easy. New, under warranty and fairly reasonable.

Please don't take this the wrong way, as we all want to give our kids the best of everything, but the best thing you can do for him is to get him a beater. Nothing dangerous or unreliable, but a beater non the less. It may take him a while, but he will thank end up thanking you, and learn good things don't automatically come his way. He also needs to pay for his gas and at least part of his insurance.

Both are great cars, but is he alright with the size and weight of either car? Another question but why the non-turbo S550? Personally, I'd take the S Class cause both the interior and engine are superior to those of the CL.

I also think you should take a look at the pre-facelift W212 E class. It gives the feel of a study, large car without being large. It should be more practical on a day to day basis and no need to worry about any airmatic or abc issues.

I think your son would look even snottier in DB9, or Porche 911 Turbo. Don't you love your boy?
