285/30/22 on rear of w221?

Has anyone ran a 285/30/22 size tire on the rear ? I was looking for more sidewall than the 295/25/22 has to offer. My ADV.1 are due next week and was wondering what others have done for tire size options. TIA

seems like everyone is running 295/25/22,
but you have to do calculation between front and rear. like the rolling diameter.

if its within certain range front and back you are fine.

google miata tire calculator, you will have the answer!

I was actually wondering if they would physically fit in the wheel well without major surgery due to the height of the tire. Researching this led me to the question. The original tire sizes on the s63 are 255/35/20 and 275/35/20. Thing is the rear is .7" taller than the front from the factory ( 27"f vs. 27.7"r ). When you use 245/30/22 and 295/25/22, they are identical rolling circumferences ( both 27.8" ). If you use a 245/30/22 in front and a 285/30/22 in rear, the factory ratio of the rear being .7" taller stays intact. ( Not that I think that really matters that much but Mercedes did it for some reason ) Only problem I see is that the 285/30/22 is 28.7" tall versus the stock 275/35/20 at 27.6" or the 285 is 1" taller than the 295 ( 28.7 vs 27.8 for the 295 ) Just wondering if there is a reason nobody uses this size. And yes, I need to get out of the house more.

1" taller is way off the difference between front and rear IMHO.

i think you should stick with 295/25/22 as many of us did.

Probably will do that. Was just hoping to gain that extra 1/2" of sidewall. St. Louis streets can be minefields.
