2008 S320 Constantly 'Activating Telephone'

Hi there everyone, i'm new to the board and i'm having a really annoying problem with my 2008 S320.

I've had the car for about 3 years now and everything's been great apart from recently the COMAND(?) Unit has developed a problem. My iPhone usually connects automatically to the built-in bluetooth. Then one day i got in the car and started the drive to London and the phone was not connected to the COMAND and the COMAND was constantly 'Activating Telephone', each time it displays the message the radio is cut out, the message is displayed roughly every 2 seconds. I tried to de-activate the in car phone and the bluetooth altogether but it made no difference the COMAND was still trying to Activate the Telephone.

Once i turned the car off and came back later, everything was fine and working as it should. Slowly the problem has become more frequent and now this is a constant problem! It is really, really annoying! I've been into the dealership and they have simply quoted a new COMAND coming to a little over £3K...

I'm wondering if this a software problem maybe? Can the COMAND be reset somehow through the controls?? Has anyone else seen this problem before, i have been on google for some time now searching but have found nothing similar.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Alex

Hi mate, Are you based in the UK, driving an S320 CDi?

To Reset the Comand, press and hold the eject button on the CD player for a few seconds, screen goes black, MB symbol comes on etc (remove all CD's first). I would also turn off the iPhone's Bluetooth and remove the Bluetooth cradle from the car and then go from there.
