Transmission service?
Hi all I just got my 08 S550 it has 59k on it, and I had a VMI run and it doesn't seem the PO used the dealer more than a few times. I have no service history other than the few things at the dealers. Is there anyway at all to see if the trans has ever been serviced? Any way to crawl under it and see if a bolt has been undone or residue of fluid on the tranny, etc? Anything? I want to have it done just to be safe but I am going on a trip tomorrow and didn't want to take it if it's never been done at all. I have the kind of luck that if there can be a problem there will be, so I've learned to be extra safe if I can. Thanks!

i spose you could look for tool marks in the drain plug.
Given that its sposed to be done at 39k and its not hatefully expensive to have done, I might consider doing it anyway.

Oh no I am going to do it, just my friend can't do it for a couple weeks and I was hoping I could even see if it's ever been done for peace of mind. By the way, thanks for the info on the brake parts but they wanted alot for shipping and with my access to a wholesale MB account I got the parts at the local dealer for even cheaper! Thanks though.
