Activated Aux feature in Comand...Now Satellite Radio disappeared
Since I got the iPod kit on ebay, i had to activate the Aux feature on my 2007 s550. My mechanic had a diagnostic machine called Autologic which i used to successfully enable the Aux feature. But i noticed the Satellite radio feature disappeared from Comand. I hooked up the autologic and noticed it was enabled according to the machine, but still no show in Comand.
My mechanic suggested maybe the Aux has overrode and taken up the slot which satellite radio occupied. Sounds logical to me..but hard to believe both can't co-exist. Especially since i know my friends 07/08 S450 is equipped with both iPod and satellite radio...albeit, from factory. Going along my mechanics logic, I am assuming maybe the satellite radio in my car was retrofitted and works via the aux tuner given i see a satellite radio antenna glue right behind the gps antenna on the roof of the car. ut then wouldn't it require Aux to be previously active to work? And also, satellite radio would then not show up in the menu as "satellite radio" but rather as Aux.
Any idea what could have happened? Or how possible my mechanics theory is?
If its inevitable to get Aux feature without sacrificing satellite radio, I will live without satellite radio. prefer iPod hands down. But sure wouldnt hurt to have both. I will be opening the headunit to install the ipodkit this wknd, anything i can do while back there to make both iPod and satellite radio coexist?

My buddy owns a MB only shop and has the MB computer. The actual computer with Star. I've played around with it some and can tell you this, you usually have to activate it in a couple spots, and I do know there is a "optical ring" so every option has a number. It sounds like maybe your AUX did override the SAT.. something is messed up, your probably going to need to find a STAR to fix it, either from the dealer or an indie with it.
