Cold Winter Weather Problems

Members,

Minnesota resident owner of a 2007 s550 4matic with 4 issues that are fustrating me tremendously.

1. Rear Airmatic Slammed to ground during extreme to moderately cold weather (-0~20 degrees) Malfunction up arrrow message everytime its cold like this.

Temporary Solution: I press the car lift button to re adjust the suspension before driving off and it works but makes a little bit of a weird sound (yesterday).

2. Difficult engine cranking start, and dash thermostat temp will not reach above 40-50 no matter how long I drive it. (-0~20 degrees)

3. Heat in car not adequate enough for comfort, but will work well above 20-30 degree temp outside. (-0~20 degrees)

4. Windshield washer fluid no longer sprays out, and if filled up leaked out everywhere right before pump went out. (washer pump?)

Here are my guesses:

1. Bad pump, leak only during cold weather due to something that works with the pump to keep air out.

2. Thermostat going out staying open/closed (stuck) during cold weather for to long?

3. Due to thermostat or heater control valve

4. Bad pump

I have recently got the coolant flushed, and also had to add some right before the winter came. The guy at shop stated 50 (coolant)/50 (water) which I did.

With any/all help, I am truly grateful. Thanks!

Regards,

eeklipz

Here is my input.
1. Weak compressor and/or desiccant and filter heed help. Moisture in system would cause problems when cold.
2. Have the battery tested for dead cell. I am surprised you are not having other electrical problems if that is the case. Replace thermostat it sounds like it is bad.
3. If you take care of 2 your heat will work.
4. Track down source of leak, tank, pump, hose, etc. Replace defective parts.
