s500 airmatic problem

Hello everyone

My s500 for the last few months had the malfunction message coming up from time to time, the car was though on correct level, only if would have it parked for a few days - the rear passenger side will be lowered. After start of the car it would go to normal level.
Recently we had a drop in temperature down to 0 C , and in the morning the whole rear was lowered and was not going up after the start - the warning message 'car too low' would appear on the dashboard. Went to check it at the garage - 3 codes found. 5288 - the pressure systems leaks, 5284 - fault in airmatic central reservoir charge valve, or pinched pneumatic line between the compressor and central reservoir. 5289 -central reservoir for airmatic leaks.

I drove home (still with lowered back) , but on that day it was warmer and suddenly the car got back to the correct level randomly.

Now is cold again and the back will get lower and not rise again.

Can anyone suggest what would i need changing?

Many thanks.

It helps if you tell us what year your car is. Sounds like a moisture problem on the car not rising. The valve block assembly regulates all air to the system. After it gets cold it freezes and the valves stick. The compressor should have both a filter and desiccant in it to take out the moisture. To get more information on the system go to the 220 forum and read the start here thread at the beginning. Also do a search on airmatic for more information. The 220s have a high rate of problems with the airmatic system because of design and the age of the system. You also need to check your system for leaks.

Thanks for the answer.
Year 2006.
Can it be the pump itself as the problem? One of the mechanics suggested to replace it....
I am just thinking that it works from time to time (dependent on weather) it cannot be the pump.

maybe the cold weather effects the air valve?

Again, suspect the valve block assembly has moisture in it.

I agree sounds like there could be moisture in there
