How do you like the ride? Do you drive daily? Do you take highway trips? What tires are you running? What is your set up? What would you do different next time?

I actually like the way it rides. You are obviously going to feel more of the road but its still an enjoyable ride. I cant remember my tire sizes off the top of my head but they are some crap hard compound tires. Delente I believe? I will defiantly invest in a better brand next time. I did go aggressive on the fitment so I do get a rub on the rear tabs when i hit a dip with a car full of people.

I will be going with 22's in the spring.

I have a 2011 s63 amg so I'll probably be running 245 30 22 in the front and 295 25 22 in the rear.

I had this setup on my LS460L and the ride got a bit rough. I was running on Yokohama Advan Sport tires. I'll go with these again because the performance was great.

I suggest to get a hard tire. I hit a few unavoidable pot holes last summer which bent 2 of the rims. It's costing me $500 to repair them.

I honestly believe it has to do with where you live and the conditions of the roads. Here in St. Louis, I run 22's in the summer and 20 in the winter on a 2008 S63. ( not daily driven though ) The frost heaving roads, potholes, etc. make driving the 22's in the winter a hard ride. Also swapping for winter and summer, I can use an all season tire on the 20's and a summer/softer tire on the 22's. Riding a summer tire in the winter can lead to a harsher ride. I've ridden in an S550 with 22's and compare it to my S63 on the OEM 20's. ( not harsh, just more "taught" of a ride ) I am going to sell my ADV.1's soon and go to a 21" combination as people have said that the ride is better in the S63 with close to the same "look".

A few years ago I went through 6 rims on an E430 over a two year period. After all of that, I inflated all tires to the maximum (44psi) and never had another problem. Sure, the ride is stiffer, but hey, wheels are expensive.

I Always go on 22" on W221/W216 and I love it.. No prob at all. But remember that S63 and S65 have a harder ride from factory than standrad cars.

I think 21" may be the answer for the s63/65 cars.

I run 22"s staggered on my 4matic. no complaints here. I keep them inflated at 50psi.

Do you run the same size tires all around? I read that if the tires are not the same it could damage the AWD system.

Tires have to be the same diameter. Widths do not matter.

No, I run 295/25/22 for the rear.
255/30/22 for the front. Like the previous guys said, the diameter has to be the same.

Side note.. Where did you get that body kit? Those front fenders are insane! and yes I am in the market for rims, so I guess it is kinda related to the subject on this thread..

And this is stock height. I guess the 22's give me the perfect wheel gap.

REL, your car looks just like my car except your window trim + door handle + side molding is blacked out!

how did you get the door handle black out done? is it painted (plastic dipped?) or wrapped?

I purchased the car exactly how it is... Everything is painted black on my car including the exhaust, it has the S63 body kit also. I'll get better pics once I can get it washed which won't be until all the snow is gone here in NYC.
