2007 S550 Acceleration Issues

Hey guys, I've got a 2007 S550 with around 90,000 miles on it. Recently while driving I starting having an acceleration issue. The car accelerates to about 30-40mph without a problem, then suddenly the car stops accelating, yet continues to rev. When I press the accelerator the car hits 5000-7000rpm but the speed drops. The only way to resolve the problem is to pull over and restart the car. This is starting to happen more frequently now. Any ideas why this is happening?

Probably your speed sensors in your tranny (conductor plate, valve body), very common problem. Find a good indy that works on mercedes and have them scan for error codes.

2007 S550 4-matic
I’m having the same issue in my 2007 S550 4matic

I have a 2007 Mercedes S550 4matic and I’m having the same issues the car will drive fine and then all of a sudden it kills power revs up and doesn’t want to really excel rate and then randomly it will regain power, car has no check engine light, I have already replaced the throttle body, which didn’t help, also tried driving with mafs sensor unpluged and still no luck! Has anyone found the answer to this? Please help

Did you resolve the problem with your s550 acceleration? I am having the same problem with my 2097 S559 with 65,000 miles. I replaced my massive air flow sensor and my accelerator pedal with position sending units. This did not help. Car frequently accelerates up to about 110k/hr or 60 mph and then the acceleration slows to a trickle. Regardless of what I do to the accelerator pedal. But the rpm increases up to 5500. And often all of a sudden acceleration will kick in and rpm will drop to 2500 and car accelerates fine to 99 mph.
Car does this for the first 20 minutes or so of driving. But after the transmission has gotten real warm, the car operates fine. All my research now points to the transmission. And I suspect the fluid viscosity or cleanliness may be a factor,
So I purchased a scanner. And got several codes pointing to the ( 2733 pressure control solenoid F stuck on), p1828 transmission case counter clockwise shift relay coil open circuit, p0741 torque converter clutch circuit performance or stuck off, p1825 faulty internal mode switch invalid range. And one said pull the heads and adjust the valves or a clogged catalytic converter. Another guy says pull the transmission and replace the torque converter.
But, focusing on the fact that the problem goes away after 20 minutes of driving, I plan to change the transmission fluid and filter next and rescan,

any advice?
Thanks! Ed Shorter

Acceleration

You may have already received the answer to your problem but in case you did not... I found that the Camshaft Magnetic Adjuster can get oil into the electrical connections which causes the fuel system to malfunction and send improper signals which then causes the vehicle to decelerate (loss of power) and give jerk motion (like a transmission issue). Check the electrical connections, clean the oil out, replace camshafts. I haven't figured out why the connections get oil into them...yet.

2007 S550 acceleration problem

Have experienced the same problem like in traffic where the speed varies from 20 - 40 mph the car would not accelerate after breaking to slow down due to traffic conditions. The check engine light did not come on and for a while I was thinking it was a computer related issue. However after connecting a scanner to the ODBII port I found transmission DTC's present. One for the torque converter and another for the valve body. The codes were P1793, P1829, P1825, and P1833. On 2007 this is a common problem along with air suspension issues.
