jobs2ceo there are some very talented and knowledgeable folks on here and other forums and from my past experience have always been very helpful. Some of the responses to this thread have gotten way off topic.
Also, buy as many of your parts from online websites vs the dealer as you possibly can. Dealer prices are quite often astronomical compared to places like Amazon, Autohausaz, parts.com, pelicanparts, and so on.
Another thing, if you have a very good indy use him/her whenever you can. Some of these guys/ladies are very knowledgeable about these cars and the repair cost can from independents can same you significant money over what the dealers charge.

Funny you mention instruments. I used to think that a skin flute was just a leather wrapped flute. It's amazing how much real world stuff you can learn in a car forum dedicated to high end German cars.

Brother I have a gl450 and the same problem happened to me and I feel your pain also if you want me to email you exactly what they did on my GL please send me an email dzsm428@aol.com by the way I had a warranty but they only covered 1200 and I paid $700 good luck I suggest you take the car to a dealer I learned my lesson taking previous benzos to side repair shops that claim they can fix it but don't get me wrong there r some that know what they are doing good luck!!!

That being said, he bought a car with issues and needs help. so if youre not going to contribute meaningful posts that will help him solve the problem, keep your opinions to yourself and dont post.
Now, I have no idea what a throttle body is, or does, but Im taking it that its something like a computer.
Should i get aftermarket sensors and can someone easily install these, or do i need to get the sensors from the dealer and will those work with aftermarket pads some how?
I do need 4 correct? Someone said I only need 1 in the front and 1 in the rear, which makes no sense to me.
If so, how do I check the transmission fluid level?

The OP is still too ignorant to repair cars (ignorance can be cured with knowledge), he can't afford to repair the car he has and, by inference, the OP can't afford the specialized tools to work on a late-model Mercedes.
Let him hoist himself on his own petard.
What I find especially delicious is, based upon one of his comments, I have a pretty good idea what is the source of the problem with his transmission, the troubleshooting steps, and probable solution. But I'm sure he'll figure it out. Or his Indie. Or his dealership. But it won't be me.
You see, "jobs2ceo", if you're polite to folks maybe they'll invite you over to their home and assist you in resolving issues with your car. But insulting folks poisons the well of goodwill.

I love everything about the big Jag in theory, but on the test drive it felt like I was driving an ice cream truck. Just hated it. A car that big should ride like cream. Plus the money they want is crazy, It's Benz money for cryin' out loud. That, plus no Jag dealer in town and the extreme likelihood of warranty repairs made it a no go. Diito for the Audi A8 (I think ***** designed those crappy seats) and the big Bimmer. The 5 series Bimmers look great, probably the best looking sport sedan on the road, but again the ride and comfort aren't there.
Really any big used foreign luxury car is going to have issues. Find a nice 2010 S550 CPO. They're everywhere and mid 30's. Add another $4500 for the 36 month unlimited mileage warranty and you're protected no matter what crazy sht goes bad on it. Or go earlier years (pre facelift), find something lowwww miles (like under 40k) and pick up a 3rd party warranty from your bank or credit union (or the selling dealer).
You're gonna take a bath on the current car no matter what. I say rip the band-aid off and get it over with.
