Sounds way too cheap to me also. Did they use oem like or genuine mercedes parts? Also make sure to the correct control as there are different versions
One for 4matic, one for non4matic and one for ABC.

For someone with mechanical experience this is definitely a DIY. You need a balljoint splitter and various sockets/extensions etc. You raise the car, take off the wheels, take off the brakes, remove swaybar links, remove wheel sensor and any brackets holding hoses and electrical connections to the steering knuckle, pop upper ball joint off, pop lower off, pop airmatic strut off, and remove body to control arm bolt then install is reverse. Make sure to fully tighten everything when the full weight of the vehicle is on the control arm otherwise you will ruin the bushing.

Karlyn suspension parts are somewhat well known in the aftermarket arena. They are ok, but not oem.

True, the biggest PITA is a frozen balljoint or when the wheel sensor is corroded into the steering knuckle. When I did the bearings on my w164 ml350 I had to destroy the wheel sensors to get them out and install new ones. I've found for frozen ball joints tigthen it up with a ball joint separator and give it a good hit with a heavy hammer. When hear what sounds like a gun go off... you know yer good lol

Oh wow I just looked up the procedure on WIS and you dont have to fool around with removing the steering knuckle. A lot simpler than I thought. My E-320 and ML-350 were more comlplicated.

Thanks for the link bmerino!!

The Karyln is an excellent option however they are not an OEM to Mercedes. Currently the only "OEM" option on the market is the Genuine Mercedes piece unless you wish to replace just the bushing.
