Question regarding spacers...

What is widest spacers you have used?

I have 19" AMG OEM

Was contemplating larger wheels but like my style.

Also mine is 4matic if it matters

Thanks!

I probably wouldn't go more than 10 mm. You'll also need to get longer lug bolts.

I have 3mm in the rear so my 22x10.5 don't rub on the inside

20mm on my staggered rears and 15mm on the fronts. Rim Diameter doesn't matter. That puts the wheel flush with the fender. As for width I was very skeptical that the car would take them without vibrations but they've been on over a year and ride is unaffected. Ditto on the need for lug bolts with extra length equal to the spacer width.

All you're doing with spacers is reducing offset. It matters what the offset of the wheels are. If they're stock they're 43mm so you'd reduce that by 20mm with a 20mm spacer for an actual offset of 23mm. If your wheels aren't OEM 43mm my numbers won't work.

Mike,

So you're running your front wheels @ a 28mm offset?

With no rubbing issues?

I bought a new set of TSW wheels (with a 40mm offset) and I will need spacers for the wheels to clear the front brakes. With 5mm spacers they just barely clear the front brakes.....I was considering on going with custom made 6 or 7mm spacers with a 66.56mm inner hub bore and a 76.1mm outer wheel bore.

I'm worried about the wheel hitting the fender.....but if you're running the equivalent of 28mm offset then I should be OK

The 5mm spacers that I have are hu centric but they're the flat kind....which only leaves a very small piece of the hub sticking through the spacer. With the custom spacers.....they will have a hub that will center the wheel on the hub, and the spacer will be centered on the rotor hub.

On the fronts I'd just do a 10mm front , puts you at 30 assuming you're on 8.5 wheels.

Right, 43mm stock offset plus 20mm spacer = net offset of 28mm, and no issues. The HR TRAK spacers were hub centric but also provided more hub height. They looked like little cowboy hats. Theres a thread here called Does Anyone Know The Stock Lugbolt Length? And I it there's a breakout for part numbers and vendor info for doing the 15/20 spacers.

Running a 9.5" wide wheel all around. Still awaiting the arrival of the 7mm spacers for the front.

I think I will go with 10-12mm spacers for the rear wheels.

Thanks for the info. The tire shop I usually go to in Palm Coast will not put the spacers on. (But I did find another shop that will mount my current tires on the new wheels and install the spacers)

Yeah the 7mm are going to be pretty thin. Slightly more than 1/4 inch. Not risky but also not much difference vs. stock. Handle them before you mount them since they're returnable at that point.

I just need those spacers so the new wheel can clear the front brakes.
They barley clear the brakes with a 5mm spacer. With the wider wheel and the spacers the front wheels should be damn near flush.
If I didn't need the spacers then I'd still be happy with the offset on the front wheels

I'll poke the rear wheels a bit more as they're tucked in more so than the fronts.
