God, I cant even begin to fathom your situation. How are you coping will all that has gone on?

And neither he or I can begin to fathom yours.

Well I bought myself a new car. That helped brighten things up quite a bit because it's very easy to get depressed. Suing the doc and hospital helps focus and channel the anger, although no amount of money will fix this. And you and your car reminds me that things could always be worse, so thanks!

You have an incredible outlook Mike and you are an inspiration to many. I truly hope that this will work out but I don't know how that will happen. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

PS. That C looks awesome. I had one as a loaner recently and I know what hooked you.

Mike, hope the lawyers can get you the financial settlement you deserve for your long term condition. Even though no amount of money is worth what you are going through. You're a better man, because I probably would have gone postal on the doctor and the hospital at this point. Personally, second to health insurance companies, I hate a lot of doctors because many of them don't know jack about critical thinking and are nothing more than glorified prescription dealers. That's another story I will save for a future thread.

If it is CES then the nerve cells themselves died and they don't regenerate. That's why it's considered a surgical emergency when it's suspected. Once they're gone they're gone.

Im sad for you. That really sucks man. Im always skeptical of surgery. I had my hip replaced a little over a year ago and lost sleep on it for a long time. Now 1.5 yrs later its water under bridge. But I did it at 35yrs old way younger than most. I pray for a godly miracle for you!

When I poked around at some medically related information sources, I came across this:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3082683/

There are some potential treatments in the pipeline, but only for rats right now.
Attempts at decompression surgery are pretty mixed from a quick read of the current treatment protocols.
The nih article does document what the doctor should have been aware of.

I'm really sorry to hear you're not experiencing any improvement.

Yeah, some studies suggest decompression within 48 hours yields improvement. The case really hinges on the way the docs and hospital reacted to the symptoms (or didn't react, in this case.)
