Hey guys, Can this tool be used to update stuff like window software on the w221? Might as well put the funds towards this rather than pay the dealership $150 to update my window software. Also, will it be useful for the W222 and W463 Mercedes models?

Definately can be used on other Daimler-Benz products as well.
Depending on the system you get,but will be advertised etc.
On the window update : you would need to have access to dealer network to be able to get latest and greatest.
I think that is highly unlikely without an official subscription to the Mothership.

The price sounds fine but at that price you could purchase a better SDconnect mux. Have a look at the WLAN card from the other side (the side that was not shown at the uobd2 website.
I would pick up one that has a proper PCMCIA connector with guides and a proper WLAN card, not that poor WLAN card attached with tape (not that this detail would be the most important one but it does reflect the mux quality elsewhere too).

Seems expensive but dude has fantastic reviews and it seems like the newest...
I didn't see developer mode though so that is something that I'd want.
Any issues with going with that route? I don't mind a tablet. C3 seems to be getting dated especially with things going forward but wanted to know if anyone had any experience with the c5 version...

Based on information here, it would be better to find a laptop and connector. Whatever you do - run a few virus and malware scans before connecting to your network - they come loaded with them.
