Painted my calipers

I am trying to decide if I will keep red or do them over in silver. When I did the primer, which was in a light grey, they looked good.

Here you go...hopefully these are better from different angles. It's kind of growing on me but I want to see how they look in silver. The red does accent the tail lights.

I also lowered the front just a tiny bit and I am happy with the height on all 4 corners now.

Love the ride height man...nice job.

I need to paint my calipers also...i'm not a huge fan of red calipers on the S though...I'll probably do silver with black accents or black with silver accents.

Looks good though

Looks great!! I have been looking into doing this for a LONG time! What paint did you use? Or did you get them powder coated? Also, I love the look of the lowered stance. I didnt think we could use the links and had to buy software and use a tablet to do it, but you have proven that wrong and it looks great! What did it run for your tint job? I guess you could say I am oogling over your ride Yours has a 1/3 the miles of mine and looks beautiful! I have been having some check engine lights coming in and it has been tying me up unfortunately and I have been researching blacking out the chrome on the car Matches my wheels more

Thanks ducati. I was just down in SC last weekend!

Yes, installing the links is a breeze. They literally just pop off and the new ones pop on.

I hope you get the CEL sorted out!

Tint was 220.00 for all of the windows and 50.00 for the windshield using carbon tint.

5 coats of red on each...20 minutes between coats. I bought clear to spray on after but they are so shiny I didnt need the clear.

I bought it online since I can use the coupon codes and then went and picked it up from the store.

Thanks. It's simple to do, just time consuming. I used a heat gun between coats to speed up the drying and sort of "bake" the paint on. I still can't believe how it came out so smooth and shiny like the pros did it lol.

Im assuming you took the caliper off the car as well? Or did you just cover the rotor and rig it up, it looks too good to have done that. Im just trying to get a plan together for bleeding the brakes and all that nonsense when I decide to do this.

No, I left the caliper attached. I could have easily removed it but I knew I could do the same job with it on.

Just cover everything with painters tape and then I covered the rotor with a plastic bag and then everything else with a trash bag.

You can tape the rotor and then spin it for the part that goes under the caliper.

I'll have to take new pictures as it is 100% smooth now as it's dry, this is when it was wet.

Thanks for the information. I am ordering mine now! Also, I did get the CEL checked out. Luckily, it was only that the ECU needed to be updated and was done by the dealer at no cost. The last time this came in I had to change out the Fuel Control Module and I ended up swapping out all 24 spark plugs just in case. Runs like a champ now! This was during the time I was pondering sending my ECU to LLT, but I have gathered from your experience that it would be a bad idea :/

Great! I'm glad. The 600 is a beast of a car and I couldn't be more happy with it.

haha...speaking of...I'm still waiting on a resolution.

Love the quality of your work but I would've chosen something like a silver for that elegant S class

Thank you. Yeah, that's what I was saying in my first post is I may change it to silver. I'm going to see how I feel about the red after a week or so. One thing about this, is that it's easy to change and virtually no cost...just my time.

You don't need to drain any brake fluid out. Just open the caliper with pressure from a screw driver wrapped in a microfiber cloth or use a c clamp. Once you are done changing all of them just step on the brake pedal 5-6 times and it will firm right back up.

That looks so tough and really accents the taillights! I am looking to change out my OEM rims and thought about painting my calipers red as my car is black too. I guess it depends on what look your going for Sport or Elegant. If I may ask...what size are those rims and tires? . What do you use to get that brilliant shine? Car is absolutely gorgeous!

Anthony-

Thanks man!

The wheels:

20x8 - 255/40/20
20x10 - 275/35/20

The shine: I use Meguairs wax about once a month and every time I wash it, I use the quick spray wax which definitely gives ti a nice deep shine. I've seen some other waxes but I figured I am going to stick with what has worked for now.

It's funny, yesterday I was driving and pulled up to a light and 2 guys were next to me and flagged me to put my windows down as they can't see inside and said what is that a 13? I said a 13? They said a 2013. I laughed and said no this thing is 8 years old, it's an 07 and they really thought I was lying. I have a great appreciation for this car as it's amazing in every way.

Wow yours is an 07 as well. Fooled me...Are those stock headlights? Car just looks Awesome. I have to try that wax and spray. I have tried the Black detail spray from Meguire's and it wasn't very impressive.

Thanks man. Yes, they are the original headlights. I got very lucky getting this car! The only thing I've done so far is swap the tail lights, clear side markers, wheels, add tint, lowering links, akebono brakes and paint the calipers.

Was that one a black liquid? If so, I tried that before and didn't like it.
