Power Steering Pump gone wrong?
Hello,
I took on an S500 2008 W221 which was abandoned in the open for 4 years!!
I fixed most of the issues except that the steering wheel is very hard to turn unless I press the rev. A random mechanic that tried to fix it before I said I will take it over insists its the pump but I am wondering about two things;
While I was replacing the tyres with a brand new set, we noticed the front left wheel rim was actually broken a bit and sent it for repair. I am assuming the wheel took a heavy hit on a rock or something.

- Should the steering pump oil be at HOT indicator? currently sits at indicator below HOT
- The battery was flat and was replaced. Now the system says ESP Malfunction so I am suspecting the ECU needs recalibration. I doubt the mechanic has a clue about this. Would this affect the steering wheel? What's the best way to ensure everything is calibrated properly? Found a few guides but none apply to the S500
