Just picked one up yesterday. They became available in Canada about 2008. The only difference I can see so far is the back door seems to be about 6 to 8 inches narrower, i.e., the factory seems to have taken about 6 to 8 inches out of the rear passenger compartment.
Other obvious differences are he 4.6 L engine that gets 30+ MPG. on the highway and the 18" tires.
Yes, it seems to be intended for taxi service in Europe as the build sheet show "Limousine".
I don't have much experience with it so far but after owning a couple of W 220's it certainly seems at home as an S model.
