Any Idea What This Part Does?
This thing was creaking like crazy and driving me nuts. I bought a used console shell on EBay and swapped over the lid, pulled the unit to clean it and the normally inaccessible space between the front seats. Took a toothbrush to the COMAND. Knob and got all the grit out of the grooves, buffed the wood with a light grit compound, then a finishing polish.
Torqued everything back down and no more creaks. Unfortunately when you press the "Comfort/Sport" button the trunk opens and the four ways flash.
Just kidding.

OK, I'll state the obvious...
Used for holding your right arm, left arm in England, at a confortable position while driving. What did I miss Mike?
Nice granite in the kitchen by the way.

Yeah my wife LOVES it when I drag car parts in and put them on the kitchen counter.
No gun locker. I have a different plan in the event of a car jacking. I call it "Take it. It's just a car and it's insured."

That how I feel about it. I have never been too concerned about theft. I suppose I could carry the Judge around with me if I felt my life was at risk but I don't drive in that many risky areas.
