Rear bumper for my S350 2006 (tips?)

Hi guys
Ive started looking for a aftermarket rear bumper that can have dubble exhoust pipes on both sides.
I would love to find some that is good fit on.

Also woundering. I have parking sensors both front and back on my car. But on my bumper i have now i cant see any sensors?? Thats wierd isnt it?

Any tips on something that looks like on the pic here. Good price and good fit?

what ever bumper that doesnt have the parking sensor holes is a different bumper your car originally came with. you can get a s63 rear bumper with the pdc holes. as for the exhaust tips its easy take a look on ebay. i ordered all my stuff thru ebay. just look on there and you will find everything your looking for.

Do you mean that my bumper isnt oem?
Theres no holes for sensors but its still working ..

There must be some s63 rear bumpers that has really good fit from aftermarket suppliers?

You can just swap out the lower bumper valence (called the "diffuser" on the forum.) It will not be a direct swap. The upper edge and sides will snap in perfectly, but two tabs on the bottom won't. I secured mine with two small black bungee cords.

The S63 diffuser comes in two pieces. The main section and then a small filler panel on the bottom. That panel comes unfinished and should be the body color but I shot mine in silver (Krylon Universal spray paint).

Both parts OEM from Rock Auto Parts for around $400.

One last thing, the bumper has an inner skeleton, part of which needs to be cut away to make room for the larger tips.

Here's the result:

Yeah, you'd need an AMG sport package to start.

I have to assume that your car has Distronic Plus since it doesn't have the sensors in the outer bumper cover. Mine doesn't have the external sensors either as they are located behind the bumper cover. IMO, this makes for a cleaner look. You can find aftermarket S63/65 kits that come either with or without the holes to go with the way your car came. If you go with this kit, IMO the square tips look better with it.

honestly you should just look into getting the whole amg 63 kit. ive seen other benzs where they just add tips and it doesnt look right. like something is off. if you wait a week or so ill let you know how my kit fit i got off ebay. but most of the kits now you find are made of the same product as oem bumpers. so there shouldnt be fitment issues.

Distronic is a radar system that allows you to set the cruise control and remain a set distance from the car ahead. Distronic cars use that system for parking proximity as well, so no bumper sensors required.

Well my car doesn't have distronic for sure cause when I back up into a spot it doesn't do anything. Actually ran into a poll once. My car is base model doesn't have rear view camera either. That's next on my list to do. Then audio upgrade.

Hi and thanx
Yeah I hace Distronic Plus. So i can still go with a bumper without holes for the sensors and it will still work?
Square tips looks hot!

And you guys are right, looks best with full AMG kit. But i need to start with the back and add the sides and front/grill later on

Gary@Suvneer is a vendor on this board who has supplied the majority of S63 body kits to members here. I haven't heard any complaints about his products. You might want to send him a PM.

That blows. Starting in 2010 Parktronic and rear view cam were standard. Might not have helped with the pole though. My wife's Q7 has radar out the ying yang...rear sensors, blindside sensors, cams, and she still managed to back it into the mailbox because the pole wasn't wide enough to return a signal.

But I can help with the audio!

If Gary can't help you (last I heard he's back-ordered), you can always get a salvage AMG bumper on Ebay and swap out the diffuser.

Read my 221 audio blog (link is in my sig but I can't post it from my phone). The system needs a lot of help, but honestly a sub would be a low priority. There are three factory subs in the car (2 8" in the front doors and an 8x12 on the rear deck.) They'll produce more low end than you'd ever want but they're choked back by a very mid-range heavy EQ.

There are also two 6" woofers in the rear doors that can add lots of fullness and mid bass but get very little signal in the factory set up.

Most of the systems shortcomings, including not enough power and poor EQ can be fixed with a Prima 8.9 DSP amp and the right tuning map. Not cheap at around $900 plus labor but by far the best money I ever spent on car audio.

this is the kit i bought from on ebay same company. the kit was test fitted to my car today and it fit almost perfect oem. just few minor adjustments. as for the grill i would order from someone else. good luck.

You can get those in a replica on EBay for around $800/set. Look for S65 AMG style wheel.
