You hit the nail right on the head!!! I'm not going to lie I bought my S-class becasue of the social status symbol. I could be driving a much cheaper care but I love this car and find any excuse to keep it. And lets not even get into insurance for these cars. I have a totally clean record and I pay an arm and a leg for this car in insurance premiums. These cars are a fortune to repair if you get into a collision and the insurance knows it. some days I want to get a truck but my emotion tells me to keep it

I have a 2009 S-550 with 85k and I bought it with 57k. During that time I replaced the engine/tranny mounts, just doing brakes now, heater blower fan crapped out on me last winter, did the tranmission fluid, replaced a rear air strut, and the rear heater control valve went bad. All in all in two years I spent about 1700 dollars but thats because I do all the repairs on the car myself and only pay for parts which is why I decided to forfeit the warranty. Check to make sure theres a history of the transmission fluid being changed regularly because like mike said these transmissions are not cheap and require regular maintenance. I believe it is every 40k miles. so it should either have had it done at least once or you should get it done immediately
