Taillight Malfunction. HELP NOW!!
Hey guys! I'm at the shop trying to repair my taillight AS WE SPEAK. Ordered a right taillight off amazon from a vendor in California. Contacting amazon now to try to get the vendors phone number.
In the meantime, does anyone know of any usual problems of maybe a fix to get the light to work. The old light has water running all into the taillight and it burned out. The new light is installed and plugged it up and the bottom LED is on, but the top LED blinked like 3-4 times and went out.
SEE the pictures. anyone know a quick fix. seems like the electronic boards are working because the error came up on the dash.
Is the light just defective and need to be returned or is something not connected or something in STAR that needs to be reset??
any comments as soon as possible will help!

Sounds like something got shorted. You need a multimeter to measure the voltage coming from the power and ground. If thr power measures 12v and the ground measures 0v theres a short in the light from moisture. If the power and the ground measure 0v then theres a wiring issue you need to chase

Also make sure it is dry in the light housing and put dielectric grease in the conector to detract moisture. Im betting you have a moisture issue

Yep, Report back on that. An easy test if you don't have a voltmeter.
