Exotic cars. ready for a upgrade.

I love my car and will keep it to be my daily. But its about that time to step into something nicer. So this is the year Ima pull the trigger and get a exotic. Ive sat in them. Ive looked at them and did some research. Everyone I know thats owned a Lambo says they arent made well. Especially to be driven quite a bit. They said their cars were in the shop about 1/3 of the time they owned them. Majority is saying get a Ferrari. But guys I know who own dealerships saying get a Bentley gt. Anyone here own or have owned one of these cars. My cars, and bikes no matter how much money I put into them I will always drive them. Ive always thought it was pointless to own things and have them sitting there. If I'm going to buy it I'm going to drive the hell out of it. That being said any opinions are welcome.

If your going to buy something that you will drive the hell out of then don't buy an exotic. Otherwise, you may end up having it in the shop 2/3 of the time.

i dont mean like im driving it ever single day. but its not gonna be a garage queen. i dont get people who buy cars, build show cars, show bikes and never drive them. if i spend the money i want to enjoy it. my s550 will still be my daily. but ill pull out whatever it i get a few times a week. i really love the lambos more then anything. just anyone i talk to keep tellin me to not get one.

Lambos and other such exotic cars are years out of my scope at the moment.

All I can advise, is to not have an S550 as a daily driver if you are buying a lambo(in my income bracket). Unless you have a large sum of money to maintain your exotic car and shell out money for maintenance and repairs on your 'Cedes.

But why wouldnt you have a s550 as a daily. All my boys who have a s550 all of us drive our cars daily. The ones who own exotic cars as well still drive them daily. It doesnt take a large sum of money for either car. I think anyone who buys a benz, lambo, any luxury car would have the money for maintence cost or repairs.

anyways anyone else in here own or have owned a exotic? any info would help.

maintenance is one thing another is paying for insurance which in itself on a an exotic costs a small fortune.

Audi R8 V10 would be your best bet. Most reliable "exotic" vehicle out there. I know a couple of guys that daily drove those through brutal winters and full summers and never had an issue.

I have an acquaintance who is a convicted felon. He makes little money because he cannot get a job. Not a bad guy, just no opportunity, not even to rent an apartment.

Fightclub, How do you afford your S550 as a cashier?

My apartments I always had them in someone elses name. Its impossible to live in a apartment thats not ghetto with a felony. Im not all into living in the ghetto. Tell your boy dont give up just keep trying. Some where someone will hire him and he just will have to start work from the bottom.

I worked my *** off for years. I mean literally from the bottom. I was cook for years in my families restaurant. Then became a door guy at clubs. I worked 2 jobs. I just worked and worked and worked over 65 hours a week. I tried going back to college but hated it. It wasnt for me all the b.s. i felt like they were teaching me i wouldnt use half of it anyways. I tell everyone start somewhere even if your cleaning toilets. I saved all the money I could. Then started in small investments. First with buying cars reselling, reselling bikes, etc. I can sell anything and Im good at it. So whatever I could get my hands on and flip I did. Now I have everyone from all forms of life asking me to invest in clubs, bars, restaurants, etc. My next big investment right now is in a barber shop actually. Im 35

max $150k, driving record is fine, used.

I was offered a lamborghini superleggera for $168k. It was over my budget. It was sick. I loved the car till I saw the mileage. It had 40k miles. He drove it daily. It was the perfect color combo i wanted. white and black. but i want something alot less miles then that. Im not in a rush to buy so Im keeping all my options open.

Get a 911 turbo and be done with it. As fast as anything else on the road and virtually bulletproof. I have one and this has been my experience with those.

911 turbos are beasts! Black/Black is so sexy.

You can get them for well in your price range too.

I have a Porsche GT3. This is the closest to exotic you can drive on a daily basis.

As far as insurance, It is not more money but actually less if you own more than 1 car. I have collector car insurance and only pay $425 year while my S550 is $1700

what makes the collector car insurance $425? I never heard of this before.

After a certain amount of time, a car so fall under collector status, therefore is expected to be driven very seldomly. Therefore, insurance is much cheaper.

There is no time. It can be a brand new car.

My friend buys a new Ferrari every year and found out he has put it on his "regular" car insurance at a cost of approx. $3k yearly. We picked up his 458 special in October and he got my insurance company at $1100 year.

There are stipulations as you must have at least another car in household. They will want to see that policy. There are mileage restrictions but they have different prices for how many miles you drive. It has to be garaged.

4 years ago I changed my 10 year old Audi S8 and they accepted it at a rate of $225 year. I can't remember what I paid but it was crazy as car was all aluminum. It qualified as they only made 500. Not collector status or exotic. That was cheapest rate as I told them it was only used to drive to car shows. Not true but I got in an accident and they paid no questions asked.

Google collector car insurance and a few will pop up to get online quotes

All I know is Lambo gallardos are 1100 a month for full coverage. My friend has one and it is not cheap.

Lol@ an almost 300k ferrari being so cheap to insure. That doesn't seem right
