Are you say'n there's something wrong with his gear? Is that you're say'n to me?

Seemed like it was work'n all right when he was given it to that one fella's wife all those nights at the bowling alley...

But for sure, tough to hang out with the guys when your gears won't shift, so to say. If that were my situation (which its like way way not, just to be clear), I'd probably leave too...

Think of it more like a vacation. I've discovered there's an "outdoors" filled with "trees" and "not *******s". Today I sat at the edge of a large body of water and found it teeming with wildlife. My wife later told me this mystical water place was "our swimming pool" and the odd creatures were "squirrels" and "birds".

I'm sure at some point I'll want to make myself frustrated and miserable again but for now I'm really digging a forum free life.

So the blow up was on the W205 forum. A 22 year old kid thought he was leasing a car but the dealer "tricked" him by pretending it was a lease but doing a loan with balloon payment. Now his dad was mad because they wanted to write off the lease and they can't. He wanted to know if he could sue.

I told him he probably had no grounds. He's an adult. He signed a finance agreement that clearly had a balloon clause, and he had no proof that anyone had told him otherwise. So this other ignorant chicken sucker joins in and he's citing all of this obscure legal jargon, none of which applied, confused the crap out of the kid and blathers on about how he has two law degrees, and I should shut up because I'm not a lawyer.

Now I'm on my best behavior because it's a new forum and nobody knows me, so I'm trying to win this little legal turd burglar over, and trying not to go all mike5215 on him so as not to scare the other kids on the forum.

I manage this for three days and four pages in the thread. Then, when I've decided he's just some douche who has some territorial beef with me, I go full on "I've Had It With This Transmission" on him. No Dave or ATC to bounce off of but I co-opt a couple other members who he's been a dick to and I just annihilate the guy. No mercy. It was awesome. I'm sure the poor C Class guys were thinking WTF is wrong with the S Class guy? Aren't they supposed to be wealthy (yes) and classy (um, no).

Meanwhile Perry Mason there gets himself so pissed off and twisted up that instead of engaging any more he whimpers away and gets a mod to close the thread, which I consider the highest possible praise. Especially because I'm a hack who owns a preschool business and he's got two lawy degrees, and it took all of six posts to eviscerate him.

So I'm feeling pretty good. Then the next day he's posted a link to a message board I submit to under my own name, and posted my name. I don't care if he posts my name really, but if you're going to be a little ****** and run to the mods for "personal attacks", you better be a Boy Scout as far as the rules go yourself. Publicizing personal info is a big no no.

So a mod receives my report, deletes the posts, and sanctions F. Lee Bailey. Then I get a PM from an Admin about how me and my friends (I'm guessing that's you a-holes) spend all day choking everyone's discussions with personal attacks and flames and it needs to stop.

I typed my first reply and then realized after it passed through the profanity filter it would be three hundred asterisks broken up by occasional punctuation marks. Instead I sent a nice note, apologized and packed up for a little forum r&r.

Oh, and I need to break the news that I'm trading the S in on a 2016 C450 AMG. Picking it up in Alabama on Friday. They're an absolute blast to drive, and they go like a mo fo. Really fun little car and comfortable enough as well.

I'll be pulling off those single spoke S63 20's and selling those. I also pulled the Becker exhaust and I'll sell that, and all of high end audio gear is getting replaced with stock, although some of that may be integrated into the Burmester system in the C or sold as well. The MidCity remote start and Drone Mobile smartphone control is going too. Anyone interested shoot me a PM and I'll get you a price.

WTF????? A C class???? I really thought you were going to go with the E. I'm really surprised and saddened by your decision

Hope you enjoy the new car and stay on this forum and not jump ship into the new one.

They should have never given you a C as a loaner

LOL! I know right!

Nope, driving the truck until Spring comes back...if it's sunny and warmer I'll drive one of the cars but I hit 180mph in the vette the other day just seeing how fast I could get it and that was probably the last warm enough day for it.

Ok...i say this without prejudice or bias. Its amazing how much politics goes on even on an online forum...Are we going to hold hands and sing Kumbaya after this?...sheeesh

Whats all this half-pleading...half-***-kissing going on in this thread? The man is obviously a valuable asset to the forum, but unfortunately some cannot handle his abrasive form of critic and help. I personally don't see why people can't handle his critic and style. I think it actually keeps the forum thriving. But am sure the moderators must have gotten a fair amount of reports from some members (and found it somewhat true) to warrant admonishing Mike.

People are surprisingly annoying and too sensitive on online forums. Am not simply refering to the folks that reported Mike to the moderators (as opposed to confront him in the threads), but also to Mike...as it seems he somewhat loves the attention too. Otherwise, we wouldn't be having a thread with cute sob stories about how he needs time off. Do we justify his alleged "victimization" of other members simply cause he is a valuable asset to the forums? No one man is more important than another on these forums...no matter the difference in contribution or wealth of knowledge.

This is a community, politics bound to happen just as in everyday society. People need to relax and enjoy sharing of knowledge, and experiences with their cars. All this hissy fits and emotional breakdowns over simple criticisms of aggressors and aggressees is tiring.

The man wants to take a break, let him take a break. He will be missed for sure. But if people, can move on when MJ died, I think the forum will survive until Mike returns from his hiatus.

A couple of thoughts on this. I don't believe that I've been on the forum for eight years, never had a thread closed, never been admonished in a thread or by PM by a mod or an admin, but that somehow there's a secret history of member complaints by several people who have "had it".

The mods and members have just been putting up with it until the one and only time I've reported a TOS violation? That's the moment they just could not bite their tongue any longer? Doubtful.

Their problem with me is that, while I'll often get very close to the line, I'm careful not to cross it. In this case, that approach so infuriated the other guy that he ended up crossing the line himself and getting popped for it. That in turn pissed off the mods...that they had to bust a "nice" guy on my behalf of all people. Essentially they're claiming I drew the other guy offsides.

Bottom line, if you're a mod and some d-bag like me has been running haywire, "clogging up the forum" and attacking members for eight years and you've never once done anything about it, you're either a really crappy mod or you're not being honest about how bad for the forum you really think I've been.

So I read the admonishment from the admin and realized...WTF am I doing wasting time and getting pissed off about an Internet forum? Not worth it.

I totally disagree with the way that this site is sanctioned. There are Trolls that should be immediately removed, then there are REAL members who provide a great deal of information that represents the basis of this site.

I feel that if there are complaints against certain members and their behavior that could remain anonymous, then those members should definitely be given the opportunity to be made aware or any such complaint or given some form of warning prior to any action being taken.

Well, yeah. I take acquissence by the mods as a tacit approval. If you drive past the same cop doing 48 in a 45 for eight years and he doesn't pull you over, it's reasonable to conclude that three miles an hour over is still okay.

Now if you flag down that same cop because you just got mugged, and his reaction is "I'll arrest the guy but you'd better stop all of this damn speeding!" my reaction would be that he should have pulled me over once in those eight years.

Ok, I may have misinterpreted your post I thought it stemmed from one incident of back n forth with another member and that there were other complaints against you that you were never notified about or approached on. Anyways, best of luck with the new C. My wife is looking to get that car but she's waiting on the new coupe to be released.

I assumed you were interested in W213 not W205
Today, as soon as I logged in the forums and saw your posts and it did bring some smiles in my face .

As a friendly request you may take it or not it would be cool you would still passing around W221 Forums even after you may have sold off your W221.

You are an unfaltering, unerring ,infallible character and an artless unfeigned person

Mike your contributions to this forum are worth far more than any house keeping action initiated by a thin skinned whiner. Hang around, take care of your family and have fun with the new car. I am sure the door here will always be open for you.

Interesting. I think your crass at times, but I don't think anyone can deny that you contribute to this forum. Most, if not all, of your comments are usually right on when it comes to the substance of this forum. How much do you want for the wheels?

Good analogy.

BTW, I put some new Falken Ziex tires on my Mom's Volvo wagon yesterday, seems like a helluva tire!

Heck, if I ever put enough miles on my 550 to wear the tires out those Falken's might jump ahead of the Coopers as a potential replacement

Don't sweat the BS.......remember what my dear ol' Dad would have said....

....***k em.

Cool choice. The new E would be nice, but you'd have to wait for an E450 AMG and since it's so new it'd likely be hard to snag a deal. The 4 cyl E would be serviceable but really not that fast or sporty.
The C450 lets you add in the burmester and the upgraded interior. It would be cool to go c63 just for the sound, but the 450 is really quick, more nimble, and doesn't give much up in performance. Some piggyback tunes are already available for the C450, from what I saw casually is that it adds about 40 hp in back to back comparisons.

The S has more swagger, but the C will be way more fun to drive.

Also you get to miss getting the S fixed repeatedly as you run out the CPO.
