Star Pre-Paid Maintenance
Have the option to buy star pre-paid maintenance for my CPO'd car.
Car has 40k miles now, looking at 2 yr and 3 yr but unsure what it covers or excludes.
Should I do it?
Worth it?

This depends on where you live. In Southern California, there are many dealers which leads to price competition and costs much lower than other parts of the country. This also depends on how many miles you plan to drive (how many times your vehicle will need to be serviced). Compare the cost of prepaid maintenance vs the cost of service at your local dealers.
One major item that you need to verify-- The transmission should have been serviced at 40K miles. Insist that this be done by the dealer if it has not been done prior to delivery.
Also be aware that the CPO warranty is not as extensive as the new vehicle warranty. Specifically it does NOT cover some expensive items that are not associated with the power train. Among the items that are not covered are the air bladders in the seats which can cost several thousand dollars to repair. Several third party extended warranties cover EVERYTHING.
