Brakes Compatibility
Do any of you know from all the Benz family cars that have bigger rotors and calipers than our S550s, which ones are direct bolt ons?

I did a search and I've seen different setup ups, front ones from one type, rears from another etc, I'm looking to upgrade the factory one for something bigger and would like to stay with the Benz brand, maybe I come across something good in Ebay

I actually just did this a couple weeks ago. I updated my stock s550 brakes to the e55/sl55 generation AMG brembos. I have a 8 piston caliper in the front and a 4 in the rear now. Discs are about 1 inch bigger in the front and rear and it looks way better. It was a direct bolt on and nothing was needed besides the calipers, rotors, and pads. I ended up getting the sl55 front and rear rotors. (I remember reading in a thread previously that the e55 front rotors will work but not the rear). I think for that generation, all the calipers were the same but I ended up getting calipers from an e55.

Pm me if you want to ask and additional questions, it was a pretty simple process albeit long because it was a pain to get the rotors off.

If you wanted to stay with Benz products your going probably go with the S63 setup. Its not cheap, rotors and pads are around $7500.
