W221 Interior light upgrade

Thinking of replacing the yellow looking bulbs for something more fresh.

A few kits in eBay, any one recommend where to get the bulbs?

Stick with the yellow looking bulbs. LEDs just don't match the interior.

Matter of personal aesthetics. Many like the soft yellow, but some like pure white or even bluish white. For some, the standard halogen lights are too dim for spots like vanity mirrors, domes, or maps, but some like the warmer light and the fade from halogens.

If you do decide to make the switch, let us know if we can help you.

So that issue with the fading and LED's is still present?

Well, digital vs analog... With LEDs, it's either instant on or off, not fade on fade off. That characteristic makes them great for signals as you get crisp flashes, but not for fade effect. LEDs can simulate fade by having multiple designed brightness points that it cycles through. This is a fairly significant added cost though. Our units are two step units so have an ambient mode and torch mode.
