Rear Seat Pillow Project
Hi folks,
I recently enjoyed a ride in the back of a W222 S Class and really liked the optional pillow that was attached to the rear head rest. When I checked, I discovered this was only available on the new W222 S Class sedans and not previous S Class versions (I am privileged to currently have a W221 S63 AMG).
I researched around for alternatives and decided not to go the cheapo Ebay pillow way and opted to get the actual pillows for the W222 Sedan itself and adapt them to the W221. The Pillow part # is Part # 22297000819H93 and can be found from Mercedes Part suppliers. The OEM Price: $147.00 and through the parts people was priced at $104.72 (http://huskerparts.com/2015-mercedes...00819H93-item/). Please ensure the color is correct. Mine were black to match my interior.
I ordered a pair and realized they would not fit and would have to be adapted, so I got some 2 inch wide black Velcro (less than $10) and sewed about 6 inch strips on each end.
I looped them through the bottom of the space under the headrest, tightened and fastened them and voila, my W221 has the lovely soft W222 headrests.
I do hope you find this useful as I did in conceiving and executing it.

This is actually a great idea. I'm kind of surprised that WPWH28 didn't come up with it first as he's totally into customization. The best part is that the pillows are easily removable for cleaning. This would be a great addition to cars like the S600 & S65 that come standard with reclining & massaging rear seats.

Not sure if you are referring to this guys post but I believe you are referring to mine with the larger pillow sets. As of right now, stock has been dried up completely. I have not been able to get my hands on them right now unfortunately. With COVID and not the Chip Shortage, chances are looking slim to none. I apologize
