DAS XENTRY Question
Im planning to buy a DAS Xentry at some point this year. Does this system reset all codes and errors? Would I still need to go to Mb stealers to get errors turned off?

it can do most things that the dealer can do. The only thing you can't do with a clone chinese DAS system is update modules/online programming. Unless you are planning on buying an actual mercedes Xentry system... in which case it will cost more than your car

Much more. The basic Xentry Connect system retails for $22.1k with a 3.5 year warranty and 22 software update (bi-monthly I think)
The advanced system with integrated oscilloscope goes for a paltry $31.6k.

That being said,for most common jobs and indeep diagnose and or repairs/replacement a Chinese clone is useful.
Recommendable is a complete set including the laptop with preinstalled and enabled software and mux.
You would need the version which has developer mode enabled to be able to version code,in case you might need to replace a sam.

I contacted a site that advertised the real system (Siemens Used) with access to the MB computers (2 years), I had an offer for less than $10k in 2014. dunno what they are today. Since I could not easily visit them in person, I declined.

they now have C4 and C5 MUX. You can buy a C4 system with a tablet for $900 from them.

Looks like $420 for the sd connect mux with cables shipped to the us. Best deal I've seen so far. Then about $100 for the dell 630 and then either try downloading and setting up the software from *******.com or buy a configured drive for another $100.
So $520 or so and attempt to download and configure or

yup. I just happen to have a Dell D610 and an external drive with Xentry/DAS 2011 on it, sitting around. I ended up buying a Toughbook with a 120gb drive and loaded 2014 Xentry on it. If you're interested in the laptop and the external drive let me know... I can put the 2014 image on the drive for you. I've got a membership at *******...
The 2011 version is good for the C3 MUX and works well on pre 2011 cars. If you're going to use xentry on newer cars, you should use C4 and 2014 or 2015 Xentry

they are all the same. the multiplexers are identical regardless of where made in china.
the software can be supported/fixed/updated for free if you are an mhh forum member

i don't think that's quite true. some people who purchased C4 units got them with crappy wifi cards, missing batteries, etc. Others have chips missing. Different units are made differently

I would make sure I didn't ever put anything personal info on the computer or put it on my home network.

With the system I purchased I was able to update the command firmware, radar sensor firmware, convert the Telaid System to Mbrace this was all done offline.
