2007 S600 - No lumbar with any seat
As for the pulley, no news yet, hopefully have more tomorrow. But yeah, I'll burn through pulleys before writing a check for that job. This is the grooved one in the corner, not the other two flat ones.
Only concern is perhaps the shaft it rides on is somewhat malleable and there is a chance for it to basically shear off.
All this will get sorted. Eventually.
And Dave, what was your motor mount replacement cost? Was around $980 or so I thought. Was that parts and labor?
Thanks again all.
Digging through the EPC and WIS I see what they were getting at.
The EPC does in fact list a new pulley item number along with a replacement for the "end cover" tacked on it. The idler bolt seems to be the same part number.
The end cover is not badly priced, it's below $175 or so. Looking through the WIS, it looks like once you do the coil pack removal steps you are about 70% of the way there. Valve cover needs to come off along with thermostat housing after that.
Long story short, only the pulley is getting replaced. Who knows why the end cover should be replaced. Bad casting? Better designed? Crap pulley design might have damaged the surface? No one knows.
Hoping for the best, but I imagine my luck will be bad. Heck I'm still not convinced replacing the leaking ABC hose will solve the ABC malfunction/sagging on the driver side. But after reading up on it, it might take care of it. But I'm still guessing valve block.
Will keep you posted.
I probably should make a thread in the M275 forum.
Basically replacement pulley has a larger ID and requires new bolt and end cover given EPC.
Dealer is going to try to machine a T-shaped bushing (long story) to retrofit pulley to end cover with original bolt.
Now this is one of things where you hear it over the phone and you just nod your head and 24 hours later you realize you needed to ask 10 questions about it in regards to requesting photos of the differences between them.
Anyways, is what is.
Just thought I'd give an update.
Bushing worked for the pulley. The other two will need to be replaced in the future but that will be trivial.
New ABC hose and pulsation damper solved the occasional ABC light, front corner sag, and horrendous startup clunk on a cold start.
Lumbar still working along with the five other things fixed.
All in all, nice to get everything sorted out but what a task getting there. Will be nice to enjoy the car again especially with nice weather.
Next up, fix the trim that feel off on the doors.
