Window Tint Lines
Hello all,
I recently tinted my S550 only to find that the drivers window sliced into the tint when rolled down. At the mid point of the glass, there is a line running from top to bottom (vertical straight line) from what looks like a roller wheel cutting into the tint. You can feel it with your finger, like a slice.
I thought it might be a small stone or some type of contamination in the rubber weatherstrip at the top of the door panel so I replaced the tint.
Put the window down after letting the tint set up and once again the tint is sliced in the exact same spot.
I took the door apart and there appears to be nothing there? What could this be caused from?

There are hard plastic guides in the doors that need to be covered in felt by the person installing the tint or that will continue to happen. Rookie installer mistake.

Im not sure but if its happened to that window it will eventually happen to the rest. My tinter popped the top of the door panels off, sliced off a piece of plastic and attached 3m felt strips. Im pretty sure this is protocol on all benzs.
