Auxillary battery malfunction
Hi guys,
I recently purchased a mercedes s500 (2010). Before purchaseing the car I got it tested (engine, transmission, gearbox, system etc). All was good but they recommended that I replace the auxillary battery. Since I was buying the car from mercedes showroom I asked them to replace the battery and they did it.
However one day When I started my car, I sat in the car with ac (air condition) turned on on for about 30 minz. Then when I started to drive I got the message "auxillary battery malfunction". I reached home turned off the engine, started the engine again after 30 minutes and the message was gone. I never got the message again. Can someone please explain this? Maybe because I was sitting in the car with AC on without driving?
Can someone also tell me what does the auxillary battery do and how much it costs?

AUXILIARY BATTERY COST
I paid $70 for battery at dealer in PR, June 2015 for a 2010 S-550.
Car Discount Parts sell it for $46.95. My dealer will not install parts purchased elsewhere!

Well as you can imagine nothing on am MB series S is simple------If your VIN has the B03 option you have a second battery located in the trunk to satisfy the B03 ECO start\stop function.
Sounds simple, but the process is very complicated electrically and electronically, therefore read your manual for a detailed description of stopping the engine via the brake and restarting the engine via the accelerator peddle.
I have no FI how much it costs!!

Hi all today I received this message auxillary battery malfunction. I called mbrace and they said this is the secondary battery and they can change it in an hour and I can still drive around. For those who have received this message if this having to do with the start stop keyless go?
