Ride height and Stabilizer bar bushings

Hello everyone,

I have a question, I bought a used S550 and on the carfax, I can see that the following repairs have been done:

39k miles: Ride height system repaired/adjusted

40k miles: Stabilizer bar bushings replaced

Can you please let me know what is the purpose of these repairs?

Thanks

1. Airmatic system had a repair completed.
2. Bushings wear out over time and need replacement.

Both items are very normal for your car.

The bushings are made out of rubber, which breaks down as they age (the rubber gets hard and starts to crack). I don't know how old your car is, but I'd guess that you should get 5-10 years of service out of the bushings with normal driving and mileage. It can also depend how hard the car is driven as hard driving can wear them out quicker.
