2010 S550 Lugs

Stripped as some have reported. There are posts about lug wrenches and sockets, but I dont see any posts about actual lug bolts and sources for them. I paid almost $18 for one at the local MB dealership today.

The tire installer says there are quite a few others that are loose, meaning the chrome covering is loose.

There are some black lugs that MB has been offering as replacements for these. Apparently they are stronger than the original OEM. But I don't remember the part number for them. i will try to look them up and get back here.

S550 lug bolts

I bought a complete replacement set of MB lug bolts on ebay for about $100 and replaced all of mine when I bought my used car last year. I also purchased a proper "flower" socket to use on them. Let me know if you need a source for the socket. Standard hex sockets can be used, but will destroy these lug bolts over time.

Yes jbarhorst, I would like your source. I have found some on ebay but am concerned of the quality of the bolts. I also found some OEM for a bout $6 ea from an online MD dealer. That may be the way to go, $120 for 20.

That's a pretty good price from a dealer. I found someone on ebay who had bought a complete set and then didn't need them. They were still in the unopened packaging from MB and they were $100.
For the proper socket I bought mine from www.ultimategarage.com

Look under the FACOM tools section in the OPEN SOCKETS and then choose 1/2" drive.

I think the part number is NS.MB

I purchased these last fall and they work great. Plus they are regular 17mm hex head bolts instead of that goofy MB flower pattern with the aluminum caps that get trashed over time, especially due to corrosion. The funny thing is that the lug wrench that comes with the car has a regular 17mm hex pattern, not the MB flower.
