CAM PLUGS

I have a small oil leak from driver side cam plug.
I have found the same issue from many thread from other models , but not W221. Have anyone replaced cam plugs here?
How many cam plugs are in W221?
Do we have 2 of the small plug, 0009985590, and 1 of the large plug, 0009985690?
Thank you

Depends on which year/engine as to which ones you have. Look back down there with a mirror and see.

They just pop out and back in, no special magic needed. Use a decently sized straight screwdriver to catch the edge and lever them out smoothly. Clean the area up, and pop the new ones in. Done.

Check your centrifuge cover (furthest to the passenger side), it's probably leaking too if it hasn't been changed.

Thanks ItalianJoe for quick reply.
Mine is 08, and although it has only 32,000 miles, I think it must be the age thing.
I'll make sure to check centrifuge cover as well.

Thanks for confirmation, konigstiger.
I found the oil spots on oil pan cover when I did oil change on Monday and saw more signs of oil leak on steering column linkage which is right below the cam plug. I did clean up the oil spots to verify the leak in the future.
When I checked the plugs last night, I didn't get any oils on my fingers from any of the three plugs as well as centrifuge cover. I think those oil spots were accumulation of very tiny leak for a long time. I'll check again in a few days to verify the oil leak from cam plugs. I don't think there are any other causes for this tiny oil leak.

Just want to update the issue with cam plug.
I did find a slight oil leak from the big cam plug on the driver side. The other small plugs were fine as well as the centrifuge cover. The large cam plug felt really tight in there when I touched with finger. However, it came flying out when I slightly pushed out with a flat screw driver. It wasn't sitting in really tight, thus the leak. I've also noticed the update on big plug part itself, which implied the original part issue. I'll check the plug again in a few days.

The o-ring on it is what seals, and it does harden and lose it's sealing ability over time.
