2008 S 550 HID Headlight Issue
Thank in advance for any help, I'm new here.
We recently bought our 2008 S 500, and love it.
The other day got a message about Right Headlight, and sure enough it was out.
I bought a new bulb (HID), and replaced it, only to find it still is not working.
I am totally lost in trying to figure this out, hope someone can help.

Try power cycling the vehicle to reset the front SAM? If that doesn't work, swap the bulb you do know that works to the other side. If it still doesn't work, then might be a blown ballast.

Just tried that....no good....and i have verified the bulb is good (switched it out with other side, and it works fine.
Where do i go from here? Don't want to go swapping out parts I don't really need.

You can try hitting up one of our other vendors here like Pelican Parts that specialize in OEM parts.

You can swap ballasts left and right, but it's more involved. If I remember right, the ballast is screwed on under the headlamp so you'll need to pull out the headlamps. Model number should be listed and you can buy from secondary vendors. I want to say it's an Osram ballast, but not sure.

I am picking up a whole headlight for $250 tomorrow, and grabbing the ballast off of it, hope that solves my issue.
