Distronic Plus question

Hi,

my 2nd post, still learning the car.
I think in the manual it says that Distronic Plus will slow down the car to a complete stop and then start taking off by itself as soon as the car in front of me moves again.
The slow down part works, but the car doesn't start moving on its own
Is there a setting I missed?

It will actually start going by itself, but it takes far too long as the car in front of you has to be quite a bit ahead before your car will move. By then, the people behind you are honking and you have a bunch of people cutting in front of you. The best thing to do is give the car some gas to get it moving again. As long as you don't put your foot on the brake, D+ will stay engaged.

I find if the car stops for a few seconds it starts right back up immediately when the car in front of you moves.

While the distronic is active and the vehicle has come to a stop (i.e. at a light). If you want to reactivate it, either pull on the cruise control stalk, the resume function. Or as others have mentioned, pushed the gas pedal, either method works. Although, I prefer using the cruise control stalk.

If the vehicle in front resumes moving in about 3 seconds, no interaction is required. If not, you must tap the accelerator or pull the Cruise Control stalk toward you.

Yes - it works in this way I am also unhappy that when I cruising using Distronic and want overtake car (e.g. slow lorry I am behind of) my eSSa accelerates very slowly until it is fully on the left side (no in the shadow of pre-car). Last months drove Volvo V40 and when only I turn left signal on it reduced gear and started to accelerate - very nice.
